Daddy thinks I'm going to be a gymnast...but I think
I'm destined to cheer.
For my entire incubation period inside mom's tummy last year, I heard three things: yelling, loud music and "one more time." At first the intensity was a bit overwhelming, but pretty soon I learned to expect it daily as mom worked with her high school cheer team at practices, games and competitions. I even looked forward to my late afternoon "tumbling" hour when I could do my somersaults and cartwheels in the belly. Mom knew I was practicing hard for the day it would be my turn to be on the team. This year, mom is taking time off from coaching, but we're still HUGE Laker cheer fans. We even got to go to a few practices before competition to help out. I was right back in my "element." I LOVED watching the dancing, stunting and sitting with Aunt Terrie at the basketball games while mom worked with the team. They even gave me my very first Laker cheer shirt and said I could be an honorary team member. On the day of State competition, mom and I both wore our shirts to support the Lakers. They did great! After winning state last year, the Lakers changed to a tougher division (co-ed) and took 4th! They were amazing!! Someday I just may be a Laker myself!
