Fall is Here!

Three events have clearly marked the beginning of fall here in Oregon:

1) The rain is here (note my new rainboots in almost EVERY picture below).
2) The apples are ready for picking (and eating) with pumpkins soon to follow.
3) We had our annual E.F.C.T. (Eckley Family Camping Trip) on the coast (in the rain, of course).
Here is my fall uniform: flannel pajamas, fleece hoodie jacket and rainboots. Camping in the rain calls for some pretty heavy gear! Thank goodness we were in a yurt to keep us warm and dry.

My friends from daycare went to Heritage Farms to check out the fresh apples. We enjoyed some delicious apple cider and hung out with the goats and pigs. Farmer John took us on a tractor ride to see the seven varieties of apples before we picked out several ripe ones to take home. Mom even came along for the fun!

For a brief moment the rain stopped and we took a quick walk on the Oregon coast. Dad and I looked for seashells and sand dollars.

We got in some good exercise; I ran, jumped and practiced my Tai Chi.

We headed back to camp just as the rain started falling again. The rest of the weekend was wet, wet, wet!

After a big family pot-luck dinner we enjoyed the annual sing-a-long. Cousins Macey and Henry joined me to sing "The Wheels on the Bus" and a few other favorites!

It looks like it's going to be a very full fall -- lots of fun and festivities to look forward to!
